It is hard to not be frustrated with people who prioritize differently than I do. If someone came into town on Sunday morning they either joined us for church or waited one little hour until we got out. Then the day was theirs. But not go to church?
We have a Friday night group. My priority is to be there because they expect me to be there. But give someone an invitation somewhere else, and off they go. Why do I understand they depend on me but they don't understand that others depend on them? Quite honestly, should people continue to show little interest, my priorities will change as well.
I know we all need vacations. But two and three weeks in a row? If one needs that long of a break from something, then perhaps that something is not a good something to begin with!
And finally, but most importantly, where does God fit into the priority scale? Are we no longer in awe of God? Do we feel okay prioritizing things over God? Would the things we put before God be allowed to go before our children or spouse? Where does God rank?
Like I said, it is hard not to be frustrated. Everyone has their own story and it is not for me to judge. So God, please keep my priorities straight. Let me not judge my brother or sister based on my limited perspective. May all I do be done out of love for God and my neighbor. Amen.
